WA State Veterans/Military Related Legislation

Every Friday morning during the Washington State Legislative Session, Heidi Audette, Communications and Legislative Director at WDVA, puts out an update on veterans and military- related legislation pending in the WA State Legislature atĀ  https://www.dva.wa.gov/about-wdva/laws-legislation/legislative-updates

Every Friday morning during session, the Veterans LegislativeĀ  Coalition (VLC) comprised of a representative from 16 National VSOs including MOAA, reviews these bills and makes appointments to testify on them.

Our state MOAA representative to the VLC is Jerry Jackson (Dave Casteel, is a member at large).

For more information, or if you wish to comment on a particular bill:

1. Go to the Bill information page at https://app.leg.wa.gov/billinfo/

2. Enter the bill number in the Search by Bill Number field,

3. Then click Search. The applicable Bill Summary Page appears.

4. Click the Comment on this bill button to the right of the bill number,

5. Then complete the comment form.

6. Doing this will send your comments to your district Representatives and your district Senator

Your VLC will again host an informal standup “lunch” reception to Welcome Legislators and their Legislative Assistants on January, 12, 2024. It will be held in the Capitol building in Olympia in the Columbia room.
